Our Purpose

Our Mission & Vision

We believe every child — regardless of where they were born or what resources are available to them — deserves a fighting chance against cancer.

Why ICW Exists

"To make a world where every child, regardless of socioeconomic background, has access to timely cancer screening, advanced treatment, and comprehensive support for their well-being."

International Children's Wellness exists because childhood cancer doesn't discriminate — but access to treatment does. Every day, children around the world face delayed diagnoses, unaffordable treatment, and a lack of emotional support — not because medicine doesn't have answers, but because those answers never reach them.

We bridge that gap. Through community fundraising, hospital partnerships, chapter networks, and youth-driven advocacy, we ensure that the progress happening in research labs actually reaches the children who need it most.

Our Vision

"A future where cost-effective, innovative therapies enable pediatric cancer care to be accessible and equitable for every child, regardless of geography or socioeconomic status."

Why Pediatric Cancer?

Leukemia is the most common childhood cancer, yet financial barriers — including lack of insurance, high treatment costs, and geographic isolation — prevent countless children from receiving timely care. Early detection can dramatically improve outcomes, but only when it's accessible. ICW works to tear down those barriers, one community at a time.

Our Core Values

Six principles that shape every decision we make, every card we write, every dollar we raise.

Compassion First
Every child is more than a patient — they are a person. We center emotional well-being alongside medical care in everything we do.
Health Equity
Quality healthcare is a right, not a privilege. We work to eliminate the financial and geographic barriers that keep children from life-saving treatment.
Evidence-Driven Action
We ground our work in research and data — from advocating for early detection technologies to partnering with hospitals on evidence-based programs.
Youth Leadership
Young people don't just represent the future — they shape it right now. Our entire organization is built on the belief that students can drive meaningful change.
Community Power
Change doesn't happen in isolation. Through events, chapters, and partnerships, we mobilize communities to stand together for children's health.
Global Perspective
Pediatric cancer is a global crisis. With chapters on 4 continents, we bring local action to bear on a worldwide challenge.

Our Story

International Children's Wellness was born from a simple but powerful conviction: that every child — no matter where they were born, how much their family earns, or what resources are available in their community — deserves access to timely cancer screening, advanced treatment, and the emotional support needed to heal.

As high school students, co-founders Aditi Kuthanoor and Shritan Pothini saw firsthand the chasm between where cancer research stands and where it actually reaches. They saw children in Seattle and in Bangalore facing the same disease but vastly different realities. The research existed. The treatments existed. But access? That was a different story.

"Being young isn't a reason to wait. It's a reason to start."

So they started. What began as a local initiative — handwritten cards for children at Seattle Children's Hospital and a dance fundraiser at Issaquah Community Center — has grown into an organization with 21+ chapters across 4 continents, $5,000+ donated to hospitals globally, and 200+ care packages delivered to children in treatment.

ICW proves that youth can move the world. One card, one event, one chapter at a time.
